The B.C. Main-Taunus Redwings 1994 e.V. is still the only Baseball Team in the Main-Taunus District.

Since its establishment in 1994 the club has suffered lots of highs and lows and is now hoping that with a new field in Hofheim-Marxheim it will finally be able to settle for good.

When you build it…… or "A new home for the Redwings"

After three years of planning, which has cost lots of time, resources and money, but most of all a lot of energy for the club´s executives, August 18th 2007 was a very special day in the 13-year long history of the club.

On this day the Redwings were finally handed their construction authorization for their own field at the Sportpark Heide, right next to the well-known restaurant "Waldgeist" by the Main-Taunus district.

Unfortunately there were lots of rules attatched to the authorization, which will lead to a lot higher cost than originally hoped for. Still this will not keep the club from reaching its ultimate goal and their very own ballpark.

Originally the Redwings had planned to start work on the field in 2007, but due to some bureaucratic difficulties the groundbreaking had to be delayed until march of 2008. This has lead to even more motivation on the club to really get the work going, so the field can be finished in time for the 2009 season. A new timetable is already in process and contact to several construction companies has already been established. The first step will be to level the ground, which is planned to be finished by the end of april, when the start of the actual construction is slated to begin. After the field is set in place the Redwings will then put up a fence as well as training facitilies by themselves.
If the budget allows it the club will then compensate for the deforestation by planting trees. This as well will be down before the start of the 2009 season.
For the time being the last step will be to construct a parking lot and the access road to it. To make sure there is no shortage of parking lots the Redwings will construct more parking lots then required by the district.

To be able to construct the new field on time the club needs every financial help it can get, not just to for the current situation, but also to keep its loan as small as possible. For only 25€ you can obtain a virtual m² of the new field and by that help the Redwings build their "Field of Dreams".
